Grapat Kind Folks

The Grapat Kind Folks is a special set of three wooden figures, each with its own facial expression, beautiful for play, display or hanging as decoration. The simple shapes and different faces give each figure its own character while still leaving plenty of room for a child’s imagination.

The three Grapat wooden figures can take on all kinds of roles in play. Today they may be family members or friends, tomorrow inhabitants of a small world or unique characters in an invented story. As with many Grapat toys, there is no fixed way to play with them: children decide for themselves what the figures represent.

The set includes cords, allowing the Kind Folks to be hung as wooden ornaments. This makes them not only suitable for open-ended play, but also beautiful as decoration on a branch, seasonal table or during a special moment of the year. The cords can be removed again, so the figures can easily return to play.

The set comes in a small box and contains three different wooden figures. Grapat makes its toys from wood sourced from sustainably managed forests with PEFC certification. The pieces are hand-finished with water-based stains and vegetable waxes and oils, allowing the natural wood grain to remain visible.

Grapat is a real family business, based in Spain. They got inspired when their daughter was 3 years old. She could play with everyday items and finds from nature. For example, Grapat developed playing with separate parts, 'Loose Parts'. Sometimes less is more. Less toys, less interruption, less instructions. By playing freely with individual parts, creativity and imagination are stimulated. The best part about the pieces is to dream up what they could be tomorrow. All toys are made of certified wood from Europe. All packaging is plastic free and the paints and oils used are water-based and non-toxic.
